You go crawdaddin', that's what!!
This is how it's done:
Catch as many large crawdads as you can and place them in a bucket with a bit of water.
Watch out for those pinchers.... they'll get ya!
Boil a pot of generously salted water and add the crawdad's (yes, alive still).
Keep at a quick boil until they begin to float with their hiney's facing up.
Boil for another few minutes.
Then crack the shells and eat em up!
You can melt some butter to dip them in but my kids just take them out to the pasture and start crackin and eatin.
"You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
And praise the name of the Lord your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame."
--- Joel 2: 26
You are a brave brave woman! What fun what a cool afternoon! Literally and figuratively!
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of the crawdads we used to be afraid of during our summers in our North Carolina cabin. We were convinced they were trying to pinch our toes as we waded in the creek! It never occurred to me in a million years to eat them.
